Hi mandy – you can still paint the chest. sand and prime first, just as you would any piece so the paint adheres. i would open the drawers as far as possible and then use a 1-2 inch angled purdy paint brush to paint the body of the chest – manking sure to get the area under each drawer. let it dry and add a second coat. let that dry well..
